What is this Program?
The re|Build active rehab protocol is a home-based plan which includes two in-clinic sessions with a physiotherapist with expertise in these surgical procedures.
Physiotherapists will be working with you to facilitate your recovery.
The program is based on a criterion-based protocol. This means that there are general time frames for reference, but they are modified to each individual patient.
WHERE DOES THIS PROGRAM TAKE PLACE?
Mostly in the comfort of your own home!
Following your surgery, the first, second, and forth appointments with the physiotherapist will be online (Tele-Rehab). The third and fifth appointments will take place at Wave Physiotherapy in Kelowna.
WHEN SHOULD YOU START THE Program?
It is important to start to prepare the body early before surgery.
The initial session should be as soon as possible. The more time you have to prepare your body for surgery the better.
Joint replacement is a major surgery, you need to be as physically prepared as possible to have a successful recovery and to return to normal function.
