This program length is 22 weeks. There is one phase pre-surgery/pre-op, and then four phases post-surgery. In each phase there are specific goals that we would like to achieve, as well as outcome measures that we need to pass before we move on to the next phase of the program.

Phase one consists of two parts which will take approximately 5 weeks to complete. After completing those two parts you will choose some outcome measures to test yourself on to see your progress. If you successfully pass those outcome measures, you can move on to phase two.

Phase two consists of two parts which will take approximately 6 weeks to complete. There are outcome measures for the end of phase two that are highly recommended to utilize to measure your progress. It is recommended you successfully pass the outcome measures before moving on to phase three.

Phase three consists of three parts which will take approximately 10-14 weeks to complete. This is where the most rigorous outcome measures are used to test progress. It is recommended you pass these before you move on to the final phase, which will occur approximately nine months post-surgery.

The program covers many things including range of motion, flexibility, strength, endurance, proprioception, gait, and cardiovascular fitness. Early rehabilitation focuses on gaining range of motion, normalizing gait and activation of the quadriceps muscle.
